US Scientist to give the 1st SCILLS Lecture

The SCottish Institute for ceLL Signalling has set up a Named Lecture that will be given annually.  Brenda Schulman, Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and co-Director of the Molecular Oncology Programme at St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, USA, has kindly accepted an invitation to give the 1st SCILLS Lecture, which will be held on 30 September 2009. Brenda received her BA at John Hopkin's University, Baltimore  in 1989 and her PhD at the Whitehead Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1996, before holding postdoctoral research fellowships at Harvard Medical School and then at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York. She moved to St Jude Hospital to set up her own lab in 2001.
